The Purple Tux

With just enough education to perform.

Here's another poem I wrote recently, also during ENL 171A. This one is pretty crude (as most of my "poetry" is), but I like the concept of it. It even has a kind of a "chorus" type deal to it, so maybe someone more talented than I am can turn this into a song or somethin'.

"Passengers"

Brow beaten, scars open up again
Take my tongue out of my cheek
It's not funny any more, no
But the irony hurts like steel

Designate the destination
Still don't know where we're gonna go
I live in the backseat, yeah
So I want more than a handout
But I am just a passenger

Would you want to break out if you could?
Kick out the door, watch it fly
Only to find there's nowhere to go
Just another victim of spite

Designate the destination
Still don't know where we're gonna go
I live in the backseat, yeah
The Map lies shredded on the floor
'Cause I am just a passenger

Last week was just the week from hell, but you know that you can't keep me down for good.

Saw one of the many Joshes the other day. I mentioned I'd been writing on some poetry during my boring classes. Think I'll post a sample or something. I'm not a good poet, by any means, but sometimes I just feel a desire to try my hand at it, especially during some of my boring classes. Here goes. The following poem was started on November 4, 2003 and only completed on December 2, 2003.

"Ode To The Orange Hut"

Indelible source of power
Infallible and born with love
Aromas sweeter than any flower
As beautiful as the sweetest dove
Provide me with boundless sustenance
Disintegrate my childish impertinence
And make me a man
