So I watched Episode II last Friday. It was so much better than Phantom Menace, even though "Attack Of The Clones" is a terrible subtitle. George Lucas should have just called it "The Clone Wars," anything could have sounded better, but oh well.

It was a good movie. I'm sure most people either have seen it already or have heard about how awesome Yoda, Shaft/Mace Windu, and Jango Fett all are. So I won't waste time hyping those guys up. I will hype the fact that Jar Jar Binks is barely in the movie. He does have about one paragraph of dialogue, though. I was booing the whole time, and the first time he gets a fullscreen profile camera shot, Ma and I were growling "DIE!!!!!" hecka loudly in the theater... Other audience members were laughing and applauding, our growling came out of nowhere, it was great.

One other crazy, i-N-s-A-n-E moment: pay attention to the "coliseum" scene again. First of all, you notice how the guards didn't frisk Amidala in case she had some kind of lockpick in her hair bun or whatever? (Guards always forget to check the women for lock picks, no matter what show you watch...) Secondly, the part where Amidala hops off the pillar and lands on the creature's back, horse-riding style. Ma and I were literally the ONLY TWO guys in the theater to notice that Amidala didn't feel any pain!! We were like, "OW!!!!" then we look around and no one else seemed to notice, and we're like, "What the heezy? Is everyone crazy?" I mean, the pillar had to be at least about 15-20 feet high, and Amidala freakin' hops off and lands in riding position on some leathery creature!! Dude, that's gotta hurt but she's all normal... I know women don't have packages, but still it's not like they're made of adamantium or whatever. Sheesh, I can't get over how no one else noticed that...

First tournament I competed in yesterday. At least now I kind of know where I stand. There was a large turnout, and there were some hecka good guys who came, like Choi, Nelson, and Ortiz.

So how'd I do? Let's see, in CvS2, my first round I had to face someone good (I forgot, i think it was Spider-Dan) and that was pretty much an automatic loss for me. He had like K-Groove Morrigan, Dhalsim, and E. Honda. His Dhalsim and Honda were too good for me, and I couldn't do anything to him once he took out Yamazaki. So I went to the loser's bracket. There, I played this A-Groove guy (think his name was Larry? forgot) who had Vega, some other guy I forgot, and Rolento. I had a good chance of winning. His last guy was Ratio 2 Rolento, and when Rolento came out, I still had Ratio 2 Yamazaki with almost full life and Ratio 1 Ryu in reserve. Dang it, I predicted and totally saw Rolento's jump-ins and I was about to PUNISH with Yama's level 2 anti air for a super cancel into level 1... but my execution under pressure was horrible and I ended up doing crouching strong, and I paid for that. That sucks for me, though, a double-hadoken motion is one of the easiest motions to do, and the one time I mess it up is the time I needed it the most. Oh well... I just got to practice some more, and hopefully buy a joystick during the summer so I can practice my execution.

In MvC2, I didn't do much better. I couldn't handle Cable, basically. Cable owned me. Basically, Cable made me his puppy and beat the crap out of me. Especially with his assists. I couldn't get close to him, and some dude AHVB x 4 (yup, 4) my Sentinel to death. In the loser's bracket, I got one win on Mike (UCD Mike/Hybrid/E-Lo), but I think the only reason I won was because he didn't pick Cable, and I was used to fighting his Mag/Storm/Psy with my BH/Sent team (who had Cyke for assist). But yeah, I just couldn't stand up to Cable... I know almost everyone uses him, but it's still annoying. I thought my Spiral could give him some trouble, but that didn't really happen since Cable had Sentinel backing him up, and some anti-air assist (probably Commando).

But it's all good, it was a good tournament and there were many good matches. I will continue training harder for the next tournament I go, whenever that may be.

Today was a good day for CvS2.

There was this one HECKA persistent dude who kept picking Ratio 4 Haohmaru, usually in N-Groove (but he also tried out C and K). At first, I picked my K-Groove team of Bison/2-Cammy/Ryu. I beat the Haohmaru guy and this other guy a couple of times, but after maybe 4 or 5 wins, the Haohmaru guy killed me. Ratio 4 Haohmaru's fierce punch is HECKA FREAKING STRONG. I got killed in 4 hits because of that fierce. Geez. And even if you block, it does like 1/3 or 2/5 damage to your guard meter. Very dangerous. The Haohmaru guy didn't even really use specials or supers. He just walked back and forth doing fierce punch, with occasional jabs. Once in a while he would do jumping or crouching fierce, but hey, a fierce is a fierce, and Haohmaru has THE most powerful normal attack in the game because of that fierce punch.

Yeah, so anyway, I came back and picked my C-Groove team (Beni/Yama-2/Ryu). I had a 15 game win streak with that team. I beat the Haohmaru guy like 5 or 6 more times. Eventually as he kept trying, he got wiser and started to use specials (esp. the sword slash double uppercut thing and the overhead chop), but I kept prancing around with Benimaru. He's fast, and his jump is like Bison's, dude. With Beni, it's all about the hit and run. I do a little bit of damage, then try to bait the other guy. I like using mind games to mess with them, too. Like, I'll just dash back and forth, maybe roll, and then either poke them or throw them. And what can I say about Yamazaki? I guess I can see that he could be kinda dirty, but I'll still use him anyway. I think I was the first guy in Davis to really use him a lot, especially since I was using him in CvS1. He seems way stronger in CvS2, though. I'm getting better at doing his super grab, too. But usually it's that anti-air of his that helps me kill people. Dude, the level 2 has sooooo much priority/invinciblity. As soon as the other guy jumps at me, I'll super him, and if we get to the corner, I'll cancel into the level 1 which does even more damage. Yama's pokes are also great. I mean, his slashes (low, middle, high) are so useful for mind games. When the other guy is on the other side of the screen, just start doing random slashes and see what happens. The guy thinks you're about to slash low, so he starts his jump from midscreen, but you actually slash middle, and he gets hit. The other guy, from midscreen, thinks you're about to slash middle, so he rolls. But then you slash low and catch him when he comes out of his roll. When the other guy finally gets close enough to cross you up, he thinks YOU think he's going to roll and throw and thus perform a delayed low slash... but when jumps, he gets smacked outta there by your high slash.

I love that Yamazaki. He's just so violent.

Check those out.

Tournament is this Sunday... Been practicing like crazy these past few weeks. MvC2, I'll probably stick to Spiral/Sent/Cammy and BH/Sent/Cyke. Yeah, that's right. Cyke in place of Cammy. He kinda goes better with Blackheart... Well, at least his assist has easier set ups. Oh yeah, and he can set up the infinite. I hardly use it, but at least I can try if I get a chance. Well who knows, I might risk using a Magnus, Storm, or Iron Man team, but I donno. For CvS2, I think I'm sticking with C-Groove Benimaru/Ratio 2 Yamazaki/Ryu. Possibly sub Bison in for Benimaru. Man, Bison is hecka good in that game, I think he's too good. I think after Sagat and Blanka, Bison may be the third overpowered character, though Vega and Cammy are pretty buff as well. I also have a backup team, K-Groove Bison/2 Cammy/Ryu. Running + Cammy fierce and roundhouse + Just Defend = saves my life.

Spider-Man seriously owns all other comic book movies for free. That includes the first two Batmans and Mystery Men. Only other comic book movies that come close are The Mask and Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm.
